VineHaven: Are We Our Brother's Keeper?

VineHaven: Are We Our Brother's Keeper?

  1. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

You know Emersontwain this is what I can not resolve in my mind about the religious “right” and the republican party. The teachings of Jesus are where I get the “left” side of me. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The teachings of Christ through the parables. The whole second chapter of James – Faith without works. And what better says it than Jesus own words in Mark “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” To me that is the command that says we are our Brother’s Keeper. I know I have inserted scripture here but this is where my ingrained belief sprang from. I didn’t see Jesus making conditions on when we are to love our neighbor and when to not love him.

I do not have the eloquence of Spaciehippie or Slemay but I believe in every word in their beautiful work.

  2. I am right there with you. Whether a person of any faith or even no faith, many people have kindness and ethics and a sense of responsiblility toward others. I think the bible beaters are just like the inquisition, full of fear and lust for power. A bully is a bully is a bully. Then there are those who are so hatefilled that the vision of anyone being content or kind fills them with rage. This old world has plenty of darkness, but lately, I think the light is getting brighter and this is scaring the hell out of the white supremists and all the other hate groups. You got Rupert Murdock and the Higest of High Grand Dragon and all his minions of neo-white supremists. The vine seems like it has been taken over by them as a recruiting tool. Yuck
