Hate:Religion,Politics,Ideology? Or People of the Lie?

EXCERPTS FROM
"PEOPLE OF THE LIE"
by M. Scott Peck MD
Page 69: "The central defect of 'the evil' is not the sin but the refusal to acknowledge it. More often than not these people will be looked at as solid citizens. How can that be? How can they be evil and not designated as criminals? The key word is "designated". They are criminals in that they commit "crimes" against life and liveliness. But except in rare instances- such as in the case of Hitler when they might achieve extraordinary degrees of political power that remove them from ordinary restraints, their "crimes are so subtle and covert that they cannot clearly be designated as crimes. The theme of hiding and covertness will occur again and again throughout the rest of this book. It is the basis for the title "People of the Lie"."

Page 129 "Evil people would be distinguished by these traits:
a) Consistent destructive, scapegoating behavior, which may often be quite subtle
b) Excessive, albeit usually covert, intolerance to criticism and other forms of narcissistic injury
c) Pronounced concern with a public image and self-image of respectability, contributing to a stability of lifestyle but also to pretentiousness and denial of hateful feelings or vengeful motives.
d) intellectual deviousness, with an increased likelihood of a mild schizophrenic like disturbance of thinking at times of stress."

As emersontwain, on the Vine,

I have been able to travel places that would be beyond my reach and possibly beyond my physical or emotional courage in my every day world. Sometimes it feels like I am like Dante, getting the tour of Hell....

" Don't share the kindness, wealth, Share the Misery and Self hatred and fear."

The mirror stuff in any lie. If I accuse you, this is what I am doing, being, trying to get away with etc. I have noticed that if you allow a liar to talk long enough, and listen well, they will tell you the truth but it will be inverted.

Haters fear everyone is out to get them, plan ways to destroy 'those terds' Do they kill others and then with no one else to left to blame, kill themselves? Or do they think their life now has meaning because they made extra points by taking other's with them? Is it really about hate, evil self - centeredness, hate of oneself being attached to another because one is unwilling to fix themselves?

First comes; 'I am and you Aren't.' Envy, hate, lust,greed...the desire to hurt someone. Then, comes the rational. Tim McVey was no philosopher, nor Oswald, nor Bin Laden, et al.. What does politics, religion, ideology have to do with any of it? I think it is just a smoke screen of someone trying to justify their own misery and self-hatred. A way fo avoiding their own responsibility.

Might as well argue with the guy on the TV screen as try to communicate with someone who's only agenda is their own survival. Like trying to save someone who is drowning and getting pulled down and drowning with them.

W. Scott Peck,MD :People of the Lie.
A book worth reading to help us understand that sick pressure in our gut and confusion when dealing with some people. It is a survival instinct we have learned to ignore in the interest of civility. No need to use a club to defend oneself from evil, just get away and stay away. And remember, they can only harm you if you 'invite them in'. Like Vampires, and Devils.

I do not believe the talking heads on TV or the self aggrandizing authors who contribute their warped opinions as fact on the Blogs , who provide the talking points and excuses for the haters, are not aware of what they are doing. They are motivated by the same ugliness as the people they inspire to do harm and violence to the 'others'. They like their power based on pride, envy and greed. They are the puppet-masters. They revel in their influence and laugh at the saps that make them rich and/or feed their ever hungry ego.

I wish we could take up a collection and find some lovely island for each and all them to go to be 'safe' from all the others. Where they could only associate with their own 'kind'. Not just the usual trip wire camp, or compound, but a lovely tropical island where all their wants would be met. Now that way, justice might be served.

In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty... in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. I have sought earnestly and with great diligence that good and high virtue by which man may draw closest to God... and as far as my intelligence would permit, I find that high virtue to be pure disinterest, that is, detachment from creatures. The only way to have a friend is to be one.
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Albert Einstein
I see only with deep regret that God punishes so many of His children for their numerous stupidities, for which only He Himself can be held responsible; in my opinion, only His nonexistence could excuse Him.

I think, when Cain asked God, "Am I my brother's keeper?" The answer was and is yes. Here are two sparkling works from a couple of the Magic Viners.

Hope you will weigh in with your thoughts after you enjoy the simple and startling words of Slemay and Spaceyhippie.

achieve
accountability
ya wanna call yerselves
a shiny society

otherwise
if yer in any position o authority
n not doin that, see
even jus not totally
yer feedin off that potential in anything

parta the solution v parta the problem
how much u contributing
to either category
anytime u have monopolies
or anythingy even approaching oligarchies etc
something's impeding competition, n so confidence
that's jus the way it works out mathematically
find a balance, or yer jus playin wit equations

in ancient villages
n for millions o years
there were only a coupla dozen or so
people for anybody to really ever possibly know
food, shelter, clothing, education, health care
basic staples o survival came free wit livin
that's how we evolved up, as creatures
that's what we're kinda used to
take any o those thingies
outta the equation
...somebody
...finds that
interesting

it's not a handout to get a splint for a broken leg
it's not sociliasm to invest in yer fellow citizens
actually it's a
requirement
who what why where when how etc...
woudl that seem like not a good idea

A poem by Slemay, NV

We sit silent who should not silent be.

We fold our arms and shake our worldly heads

When wicked men softly and so silently

Cut the throats of children in their beds.

We wait while men in suits decide the fates

Of millions with one cut of oily cards;
But we are not the ones with empty plates

So we can simply send our best regards.

We wonder why our sullen silence sends

The wide world a signal of serenity;

Why hope cannot for silence make amends,

Nor goodwill set a single person free.

For should we admit an unpleasant fact,

What we fear most is this: that we must act.

Please, Lets Come Together at VineHaven

Hi, this is emersontwain,

Many of our cherished friends have left a blog site we will not name, because of meanness, troll behavior and sabotage. Although, in the past few days the Admin has assured us all is well, I have my doubts.

Many of us have found the forum a support and a lifeline. Many of us do not have many other outlets to good stimulating conversation,

a. friendly support
b. a way to continue learning
c. peaking and satisfying our curiosity

I am heartsick and lonely for those of you who have given up. You are missed. To those of us still clinging to the old site, I hope offering the VineHaven will give you an opportunity to safely Post and Comment. Please, the more the merrier!

There will be no advertising, therefore No temptation to scam the system for a buck. Hope that helps. Also, as moderator, If I am not on line, I will be there at least three times a day to check the posts and comments for troll crusts. If anyone wants to reach me in the meantime or for various other personal reasons, or complaints etc. Please use ladieswithapast@gmail.com (email address) emersontwain
